Seasonal peaks and high customer demands: The challenges of courier, express, post and parcel (CEP) companies are increasing in parallel with the volume of consignments. gts has been a solution partner to the industry for many years and offers digital support for order processing on the road with its TransIT route planning software. In order to be able to respond even more specifically to the needs of CEP service providers in the future, gts is now a member of the Bundesverband der Kurier-Express-Post-Dienste e.V. (BdKEP).
The BdKEP represents the trade policy interests of medium-sized companies in the courier, express, parcel and letter services. The association also sees itself as a comprehensive development platform for physical and digital CEP services. For gts, as a long-standing software partner of CEP companies, it is therefore a logical step to join the association. The membership is an interface between the providers and the users of digital industry solutions for route planning.
This is because the TransIT software, which was specially developed for the industry, supports the optimisation of route planning in the CEP sector. It takes various delivery parameters from time windows to vehicle capacities and calculates the best route by means of algorithms, precise area planning and automated optimisation processes and increases the efficiency of scheduling compared to manual plans. This not only saves CEP companies time and money, but also reduces their CO2 emissions and the stress levels of their drivers. The result is optimised route planning that makes daily business easier.
Sascha Egener, Head of Partner Account Management, is pleased about the membership in the association: "Digitalisation in the industry is advancing and the BdKEP is an active pioneer of these developments. We also support CEP service providers in overcoming logistical challenges with our software. Therefore, this partnership is valuable for the further development of the digital network in the CEP industry."
"We are pleased that gts has decided to become a member. The company brings new impulses from related sub-sectors to our community," adds Andreas Schumann, Chairman of BdKEP.
