Germany's largest fish manufacturer will in future rely on the TransIT route planning softwareto control its approximately 300 delivery vehicles. One of the main reasons for the "change of course" was the possibility to switch from framework tour planning to free tour planning.
When fresh food is delivered from more than 20 branches across Germany to around 35,000 customers with daily changing order situations, you have to be able to rely on a customised route planning concept. This is exactly why the Deutsche See vehicles now have the software from Aachen on board. Within six months, gts systems and consulting realised the software project, which focuses in particular on flexibility and efficiency, as the drivers' routes are constantly changing. "The software from our consulting partner gts offers us the possibility to adapt and optimise the deployment of the vehicles on a daily basis," explains Martin Engelking, Director of Service at Deutsche See.
Before the transporters leave the yard in the morning, the software has already automatically calculated the most efficient route. TransIT records all orders from Deutsche See's ERP system. The routes are planned taking into account numerous parameters such as vehicle capacities, specific delivery windows or current traffic obstructions. After transmitting this data to the vehicles' navigation devices, the fleet manager of the Deutsche See branch can see the respective order status. The GPS data from the telematics systems form the basis for a target/actual comparison.
"We are delighted that Deutsche See has decided in favor of our consulting and our tour planning software," said Thomas Kriese, sales manager at gts systems and consulting. “Thanks to our many years of experience with major customers such as DHL and BMW, we know exactly what the requirements for the transport of sensitive goods are. The technological advantages of TransIT enable Deutsche See to lower operating costs in the future. "
We would be happy to present our solutions to you in a personal meeting.
