Irregular orders, daily fluctuations and orders at short notice: These are some of the challenges of route planning in wholesale. In order to keep logistics manageable, the Heidelberg-based software company Compex and the Aachen-based route planning expert gts systems and consulting have joined forces. The Compex Commerce software uses information from various sales channels, suppliers, customers and service providers. As a combination of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM), it comprises a complete merchandise management system, including warehouse management, logistics and accounting. Thanks to an interface to the gts software TransIT, users can now benefit from uncomplicated route optimisation for a large number of warehouse locations. Dispatch locations, repacking processes or reloads can be flexibly controlled, as can the loading of multi-chamber transports. The result: consistent and efficient processes, even in complex corporate networks.
