2025 is a very special year for us: gts is celebrating its 25th anniversary! A quarter of a century full of innovation, collaboration and shared successes. We didn't want to celebrate this just in the office, but with a trip that is as diverse as our team. Our destination: Utrecht – a city full of history, charm and adventure.
Friday: The analogue Utrecht Photo Challenge – team spirit without smartphones.
The first surprise awaited us right at the start: smartphones were strictly off limits during the Utrecht Photo Challenge. Instead, we were given only a city map and a Polaroid camera. What at first glance sounded like a simple scavenger hunt turned out to be a real team adventure. Without GPS and Google Maps, a sense of direction and communication were essential.
Whether on Oudegracht, in the shadow of the cathedral tower or in the narrow streets, we laughed, searched, found and captured unique moments on Polaroid. The challenge not only brought us closer to Utrecht, but also showed us how much fun real, analogue experiences can be in the digital age.
An evening full of enjoyment.
After the adventure, it was time to relax and enjoy ourselves. We ended the day with good food and great conversation at the stylish Humphreys restaurant. The restaurant was the perfect place to toast 25 years of gts and reflect on the best moments of the day.
Saturday: Slowing down, waterways and a maze in the dark.
Saturday began in a relaxed manner with breakfast together before we went on a canal cruise. From the water, Utrecht showed itself from its most beautiful side – historic façades, small bridges and the feeling of being able to simply breathe deeply.
But the real thrill awaited us afterwards: the Nox Room, a labyrinth in the dark. In complete darkness, we played Hunter and Hider – an experience that tested trust, orientation and team communication. Everyone had to rely on each other – and that's exactly what made it so exciting.
Why such experiences are so important.
25 years of gts stand not only for technological expertise, but also for people who achieve great things together. That's exactly why trips like this are so valuable: they promote trust and cohesion, create space for new perspectives, and remind us that success is always a joint project. Away from everyday life, this is how stories are created that truly unite a team – and have a lasting impact.
With many memories in my luggage.
After two days full of adventure, laughter and team spirit, it was time to head back home – with Polaroid photos, lots of wonderful memories and a sense of pride in what we have achieved together over the past 25 years.
Thank you to everyone who was there – here's to the next 25 years of gts!
