Germany's largest fish manufacturer will in future rely on the route planning software TransIT to control its 300 delivery vehicles. One of the main reasons for the \"change of course\" was the possibility to switch from the general route planning to the free route planning.<\/p>

When fresh food is delivered to around 35,000 customers from more than 20 nationwide branches with daily changing orders, you have to be able to rely on a tailor-made route planning concept. This is exactly why Deutsche See<\/a> vehicles now have the software from Aachen on board. Within six months, gts systems and consulting implemented the software project, which particularly focuses on flexibility and efficiency, as the routes of the drivers are constantly changing. \u201cThe software from our consulting partner gts enables us to adapt and optimize the use of the vehicles on a daily basis,\u201d explains Martin Engelking, Service Director at Deutsche See.<\/p>

Before the fish vans start in the morning, the tour planning software has already automatically calculated the most efficient route. To this end, TransIT records all orders from Deutsche See's ERP system. The tours are planned taking into account numerous parameters such as vehicle capacities, certain delivery times or current traffic obstructions. After the transmission of this data to the navigation devices of the vehicles, the fleet officer of the Deutsche See branch can recognize the respective order status. The GPS data of the telematics systems are the basis for a target \/ actual comparison.<\/p>
